Why an Educational Therapist?

An educational therapist is a highly trained professional who combines advanced psychoeducational and therapeutic approaches for evaluation, remediation, and communication on behalf of children, adolescents, and adults with learning difficulties, including:

  • formal and informal assessment
  • synthesis and application of information from other related support professionals
  • development and implementation of individualized remediation   plans for school-related learning and behavioral issues within the psychosocial contexts of the family, school, and community
  • skills training for addressing social, emotional, and academic obstacles related to learning difficulties, including self-esteem and confidence-building

Educational therapists create and implement individualized treatment plans that utilize information from many sources including the client’s social, emotional, psychoeducational, and neuropsychological context, paired with information gathered from parents, teachers, and other support providers.
